Science Based Targets Initiative
The independent Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) has verified our emission reduction targets as consistent with levels required to meet the United Nations’ Paris Agreement on climate change (limiting global warming to 1.5 ° C). Therefore, we commit to reduce absolute scope 1 and scope 2 GHG emissions 50% by 2030 from a 2018 base year, and to measure and reduce our scope 3 emissions.
In June 2023, MATSEN CHEMIE AG was awarded the silver medal by EcoVadis. In the second year of participation, we were thus able to significantly improve on our bronze medal in the previous year with the silver medal. With 69 out of a possible 100 points, we were able to achieve the best possible silver medal and our score puts us in the top 7% of all companies assessed by EcoVadis. Our declared goal for 2024 is to achieve gold status.
